Ability to Change Workflow Trigger & Actions

It would be nice, for those of use that are creating workflows from scratch to have the ability to change an Action set without needing to go through the tedious add/delete process.

Zapier has a really good handle on this by offering "Choose App" and "Choose Event" drop-downs on the both the Trigger and App Action fields.

This is excellent for those of us that start setting up a workflow and then realize we need to change it.

This would also be SUPER handy for the trigger as well. Currently we can't change the trigger and are forced to go through a whole new workflow; very clunky.

Often times you need to create multiple variations of a flow. Eg.:
1. On Contact is updated in Gist
2. On Contact is created in Gist

Since you cannot change the trigger for a flow you basically have to re-create the whole flow from scratch. Which is a pain to do and to maintain especially if you have many steps, data modification or conditions.

Could be nice to be able to simply change the trigger, then one could simply duplicate a flow and then change the trigger to create the variation.

I understand that source fields are different for triggers however imagine changing triggers within the same product the data fields would be mostly the same and you could just remap everything automatically to the equivalent field and let the user do the rest manually.

As an example "Contact is updated in Gist" and "Contact is created in Gist" share everything anyway, so why not let the user just change it here. And for other triggers you could just allow to keep the flow structure still and then let the user refill the fields manually. This would still save lots of time.

Would be a massive timesaver and workflow improvement.

Hi There,

Thanks for your suggestions!

We have recently launched the feature wherein you can change your Destination App and Action on the Automation Builder page. You can refer this video youtu.be/ssbxQVzhvyo to see this feature in action :)

Thanks

I can't even tell you how many times I've started a Workflow in Zapier, added an Action app and semi-configured only to realize that's not the App action I wanted.

In Zapier I can easily change this. I'm fully aware that it would affect the rest of the flow (if I added stuff below what I'm changing) and that's fine.
